I have been consumed with the publicity for Meadows at Marshdale.
I've spent a great deal of time working on the website.

I've also been working with Teressa for a month on - -

Finally ... we have ordered postcards and business cards.

We still have folders to order
and letterhead to print
and the folder contents to be polished
... but we are getting there!

5 days.
27 showings.
3 offers.
1 contract.

We got asking price, minus closing costs of about $4,700.

We knew it would sell fast ... but WOW!

One of the greatest gifts is that they want closing to be June 4th.
Christina is supposed to be out of our house May 31st.
So, we can move once!
I'm super thankful for that!

Just the other day, I told a friend ...
this time, God has aligned every detail just right.
This whole process has been such a God thing.
He has orchestrated the finding of the property
to the negotiations
to the closings
to the sale of our home
to the closing date.

There have been many other occasions that has not proved true,
so I'm soaking in this moment.
It is a gift.

I will miss this house.
And I will really miss our church and Awana.
But I'm so excited about where we are going!

Emily McHugh (Molly Brown), Noel Davidson (Sacajawea),
and Shiloh Stucky (Harriet Tubman)

Faces of History was on week 23.
Shiloh was Harriet Tubman
Landon was Teddy Roosevelt
It was a great day!
18 kids presenting their papers.
I was so proud of Shiloh ... who memorized her paper and Landon who memorized most of his.
They were AdOrAbLe!

Yesterday was Memory Masters.
Seven kids - and one Mom, me!
We all went to the Brimberry's house and tested all day long ... finishing about 3pm.
Everyone made it!

The Bigs went to the McHugh's for the afternoon to play.
They had a great time playing in the canyon ... and the boys made mud masks.

Landon, Rory McHugh, and Colum McHugh

It was a GrEaT year!
Although it's always sad when CC ends, but I'm also glad it's over.
... now to start packing ... and moving!

The Red Barn

Where rustic charm meets elegance!

That's' the Red Barn.
It's the central part of the whole property.
And my favorite building!

Built in 1958, it was an old farmer's barn that once housed a collection of antique cars and a foundry in the basement.
Carolyn Newkirk completely renovated it to its present look in 2000.

Meadows at Marshdale opened for business in January 2001
In the spring of 2001, Carolyn landscaped the Mountainside Arbor to accommodate an outdoor ceremony.

After her death in January 2011, her daughter, Christina Seldomridge, continued to manage the business from Pennsylvania.

The Red Barn is an ideal mountain location for weddings, receptions, retreats, small conferences, corporate events, and other special events.

Market Ready

I have been consumed with getting our house market ready.
Steve wanted to clean up the back yard, so we hired Mo, from church, and we moved
rock and pea gravel and the brick "patio".
Then, Steve wanted to paint the front of the house.
So, I bought paint and painted.

I packed boxes and cleaned and tidied and removed clutter and cleaned some more.
We had the carpets cleaned Wednesday afternoon.
Thursday, when the kids and I were at CC for week 24!
... photos were taken
... Troy put a sign in the yard
... by 9:40pm on Thursday, the listing was on the MLS

Friday morning, the kids and I planned to head to my parents for lunch and hang out for the day.
At 10:30am, Steve called to tell me there was a showing at 11:30am.
We managed to get it all done ... and I was taking this photo as the realtor walked up!

Yesterday, we had 6 or 7 showings.
Today, we had another 5 or 6 showings.
Tomorrow, 2 are scheduled.

We will start accepting offers on Monday.
It's a crazy market.

Happy Easter

My little darlings.
As always, I simply had to find matching outfits!

With the purchase of Evergreen, and working to get our house on the market, and Memory Masters, and the end of CC ...
It wasn't an overly eventful Easter ...
no egg hunt, no egg coloring ...

But the Stuckys were home, so they came over for ham dinner.
It was a nice Easter.
Blessed to call these little darlings mine.

Best April Fools Ever

We closed on Evergreen!
3pm on April 1st.
We signed papers until about 5pm.

Bill took us all out to dinner at Beau Joe's.
Barbara and John came too.

We did it!
We own the Red Barn!

We had a sleepover Thursday night.
All 6 of us in the master bedroom.
Other than a run-in with Victoria, which just about ruined our time ...
it was fun to be in the house for the first time.

I'm glad to be finished with all the paperwork of closing ...
and lease agreements ...
and negotiations ...
and more paperwork ...
and jumping through every hoop imaginable, just to get this done!

Besides having to get our house on the market...
Now, the fun begins!
So, so, so, so, so very excited about this new business venture!
